It was not until the Jin Dynasty that it became a festival food for the Dragon Boat Festival. According to folklore, eating zongzi is to commemorate Qu Yuan who threw himself into the river.
Dragon Boat Race
Legend has it that dragon boats are used to disperse the fish in the river to prevent the fish from eating Qu Yuan’s body. In modern dragon boat races, the boat is usually built in the shape of a dragon and painted with dragon patterns. Races are held every year on the Dragon Boat Festival to show respect for dragons and to show that they are descendants of dragons and descendants of dragons.
Hanging mugwort
The folk proverb says “Put willows in the Qingming Festival, and plant moxa in the Dragon Boat Festival”.
