Children’s Day, also known as “International Children’s Day”, is held on June 1 every year and is a festival for children all over the world.
In November 1949, the International Democratic Women’s Federation held a council meeting in Moscow. Representatives from China and other countries angrily exposed the crimes of killing and poisoning child by imperialists and reactionaries from various countries. In order to protect children’s right to survival, right to health care and right to education in all countries in the world, and to improve child’s lives, the meeting decided to take June 1st of each year as the International child’s Day.
Prior to this, many countries in the world had child’s Day. In 1925, the International Association for the Promotion of child’s Happiness proposed the establishment of child’s Day. The United Kingdom, the United States, Japan and other countries responded positively and successively established their own child’s Day. Day is child’s Day. Japan’s child’s Day is very special, divided into boys and girls’ day, May 5th for boys and March 3rd for girls. In 1931, our country also set April 4th as the Chinese child’s Day.
Since June 1 was established as the International child’s Day in 1949, all the countries in the world have abolished the original child’s Day one after another, and unified it as “International child’s Day”. The central government of our country announced in December 1949 that the original “April 4th child’s Day” would be replaced with “Six One International child’s Day”, and child should be given a day off.
