Sudan
On July 18 local time, the International Organization for Migration released the latest report on the situation in Sudan. The report shows that since the outbreak of the armed conflict in Sudan, about 2.613 million people have been displaced in Sudan, and 757,000 people have sought refuge in Sudan’s neighboring countries. The total number of displaced people exceeds 3.37 million.
According to the report, Sudan’s internally displaced people mainly come from the capital Khartoum and its surrounding areas and the western Darfur region. The Sudanese who sought refuge in neighboring countries mainly went to Chad, Egypt, South Sudan, Ethiopia and other countries.
The report also pointed out that armed conflicts are still going on in many parts of Sudan, especially around Khartoum and Darfur, restricting the access of humanitarian aid.
The armed conflict in Sudan broke out in and around the capital Khartoum on April 15, and then spread to other parts of Sudan. The conflict continues to this day.
